Perhaps the truth is we speculate too much instead of trying to find out the facts. The future position of woman in society is a question that carries with it biological and psychological, as well as social and practical, issues of the widest significance, and further, it is bound up intimately with the profoundest riddles of existence. The problems remain to a great extent unsolved.

The other legend to which I have alluded is as follows: The meaning of the Indian word Nacoochee is the “Evening Star,” and was applied to a Cherokee girl of the same name. She was distinguished for her beauty and a strange attachment for the flowers and the birds of her native valley. She died in her fifteenth summer, and at the twilight hour of a summer day.

Hand ball is another game that has grown into popularity in the United States. "Well, I do declare!" exclaimed the Candy Rabbit. "Think of all those things inside an egg a church, a house, and a little boy! I wonder what has happened to me! Yesterday I was on the toy counter, with the Calico Clown and the Monkey on a Stick, and today I seem to be in Fairyland. I wonder if this really is Fairyland? The claim with the shack on it was in South Dakota, thirty miles from a town called Pierre. We looked that up in the geography to make sure it really existed. But when we tried to get detailed information, facts and figures to help us prepare for what was to come, we got only printed pamphlets of rules and regulations which were of no real help at all.

Skiing: pronounced in Norwegian "sheeting"--is the great winter sport of the Norwegians and Swedes. The sport is fast being introduced into this country and is gaining in popularity in every place where the two requisites  snow and a long, steep hill  can be had. The ski is a strip of ash or spruce wood, turned up in front like a sled runner, and smooth and straight grained.
