Lady Mary examined the bracelets, and said she thought they were wrought with beads, but Mrs. Frazer told her that what she took for beads were porcupine quills, cut out very finely, and strung in a pattern. 
"This embroidered knife sheath is large enough for a hunting knife," said Lady Mary, "a '  couteau de chasse  ,'--is it not?"
